My Story
Someone once said to me, “Jenna Escalante, your work is like Lisa Frank’s art, but for adults.” In that moment it dawned on me that I couldn’t get enough of Lisa Frank’s merchandise as a child, her bold colors and rainbows splayed across my school notebooks. From a very young age, I understood how eye catching color is, and how it can evoke warmth and happiness. As a twenty-five-year-old woman, I seek to bring that array of color and light to my digital art and photography, even as my interests evolve and change into something less whimsical, and more spooky.
My Goal
Mixing the rainbow loving child in me who's inspired by Lisa Frank’s art, and the seasoned storyteller in me who spends her nights reading Stephen King, I convert my own bone-chilling stories into art and breathe color back into the all-too-familiar muted tones associated with the horror genre.
